Happy Birthday Surprise!

Hello crafters! I want to share a fun popup card with you today! I love to add surprises to the inside of cards and popups are the best surprise to the recipient because they don’t expect it! Puts a smile on their face and that, my friends, is the ultimate goal.

Card base – yellow cardstock 5 ½” x 8 ½”

Blue layering cardstock-4 1/8” x 5 3/8”

White cardstock-3 7/8” x 5 ¼”

White cardstock for inside popup- 5 ¼” x 8 ¼”, scraps of blue, yellow and peach

cardstock for the balloons. Using a balloon punch or die cut out multiple balloons (I didn’t have a die or punch big enough for these so I used my cricut to cut out.

Darice embossing folder Birthday collage, Distress Oxide inks-Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Faded Jeans, mini foam ink tools, Simply Stampin stamp-Birthdays are Good # 1400101 The popup box instruction was compliments of Tatiana Creative.

Fold the yellow base card in half and adhere the blue layering cardstock piece on the front. Take the white cardstock (3 7/8” x 5 ¼”) and the Birthday collage embossing folder and run through your Big Shot or whatever machine you use.

Using all three of the Distress Oxides, create your background colors on the embossed piece.

Adhere to the front of the card.

Using the pattern below, cut the popup boxes on the solid lines (I used an xacto knife but whatever works best for you is what I would use to cut) fold on the dotted lines so the boxes pop outward. Fold in half (on the dotted line) Adhere to the inside of the card, one side at a time making sure to only put the tape or glue around the outer edges so as not to glue your popup to the base card!

Use the box flap pattern and cut 2 of these. Score and adhere the flap on the inside of the pop out box so that all that is on the outside of the box is the flap.

Attach your balloons to the inside of the box flaps so they look like they are floating. You can also attach 2 to the white card also to finish it off.

Stamp Birthdays are good for you to the right top! Hope you enjoyed these directions and will give this card a try.

The embossing folder and Stamp can be found on our website

Happy stamping…

Joanie
