I am an Atlantic Ocean person. Growing up in Connecticut, the beach was always my favorite place to go. It didn't always have to be ocean, I just loved the water. It is so peaceful and serene, sitting under the rays of sunshine, hearing the waves roll in and putting my toes in the sand. When the kids were growing up it was the best place to go, playing in the water, building sand castles, fishing and just enjoying the outdoor air.
So this card brings back the memories of seeing the lighthouses and taking advice from the ocean. This card is one of the easiest cards to create.
The white cardstock base of this card is a die cut from Sizzix-Center fold step card.
Fold the piece on all of the scored lines and it will look like this when folded.
Attach the dotted square to the black cardstock square so that the black shows evenly around (side note-one edge is longer than the other by 1/8" so be sure before you attach that it is even)
Attach the dotted piece to the front of the card (again, one side is longer than the other so the "square" should fit evenly within the center square of the front panel (This piece should not fall below the side score lines)
Attach the strip of anchor patterned paper to the black cardstock strip and adhere it to the bottom of the front.
Adhere the 2 strips of star patterned paper to the strips of black cardstock. With the card opened, attach the strips within the top score line and the bottom score line sides. Now fold up the card and using a bone folder, press down on all of the folded score lines.
There are two stamped oval diecuts, the Lighthouse and the sentiment for the inside. There are also 2 scalloped black cardstock oval diecuts. Adhere each of the stamped images to the scalloped cardstock diecuts. Using the Quickie Glue pen, draw around the white oval pieces and add the Glamour Dust glitter. Using the Quickie Glue pen once again, draw on the lines of lighthouse and add the glitter (picture isn't the best overall but I added the glitter through out all the lines of the lighthouse and bottom rocks).
Adhere the sentiment oval to the center of the inside of the card!
There you have it folks, another one done!
The last Black and White card of this series will be posted shortly. I saved the most difficult one for last.
